Baby Cake

I made this cake for my baby party this past weekend. I didn't have to but I wanted to. I think it turned out super cute. Gavin has been asking to eat the shoes since before the party even started. The bottom tier was chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling and swiss meringue buttercream. The top tier was a vanilla cake with swiss meringue buttercream. The flower was made out of gumpaste and the shoes were a gumpaste and fondant mix.

Easter Themed Birthday Cake

My friends daughter has designed her own birthday cake for the past two years. When she designed this one it was before Easter and I was thinking she must have been super excited for Easter. When I dropped off the cake my friend told me her daughter loves Easter and they even have Easter egg hunts for her birthday so it made a little more sense. It's so fun to recreate a child's drawing into a cake.

My friend Amber with Broken Images Photography was nice enough to send me some pictures she took of their cake. Some of these pictures are my own but I'm willing to bet you can tell which are which haha.

50th Birthday Cake

Last Friday morning my Mom asked if could possibly make a cake last minute for a good family/friend... but really she's more like family. My mom even said something about just ordering a sheet cake from the store (GASP!) I'm sorry but you can't order a cake from a store when I make cakes haha. I only had a few short hours to get this cake together. Had I been given a little more time to work on the cake I probably would have done things a little differently. The bottom tier was a sour cream chocolate cake (thank you neighbor for letting me borrow your sour cream) and the top tier was strawberry. Everything was covered in Swiss Meringue Buttercream and the top tier was decorated with sprinkles (long story.... couldn't find the sprinkles I wanted to use decided to go in a different direction and then ran out and when I sent my mom to the store to get more they didn't have what I needed lol) the bottom tier was decorated in fondant with gumpaste accents. I was told the cake was delicious and moist so that's good.

Happy Birthday Becky we love you!

Because I was running late the only pictures I got were taken at the restaurant. We Love La Casita in Springville :)

Ruffle/Young Women Value Birthday Cake

I wasn't quite sure what to name this cake. This cake was for a super cute girl who just turned 12. The bottom tier was vanilla cake with sprinkles and the top tier was strawberry and everything was covered in white chocolate ganache, decorated in fondant with fondant/gumpaste accents. I especially love that their party matched my logo. How awesome is that?! I guess I know who to go to when/if I ever throw a Sweet Bottom Cakes party!

Thank you Malinda for the pictures of the party!

This was a vanilla cake with Swiss Meringue Buttercream, covered in fondant and decorated in gumpaste/fondant stars. Thank you Britanee for letting me share your cute picture of the birthday girl with her cake!

Naked Sprinkle Cake

I really kind of love naked cakes. There is something about the simplicity of them... I don't know I just think they're pretty. This cake was a sprinkle/funfetti (whatever you want to call it) cake filled with Swiss Meringue Buttercream and topped off with some super fun sprinkles. I want to give a special thanks to my friend Kate for letting me share her pictures too.

How cute is this birthday girl?!

Peanut Butter Cup Cake

I generally don't do any Peanut anything orders (my son is allergic) but this was a special order and my husband requested that I make it. Special arrangements were made to have my son at his Grandparents house when the cake was made and I was very careful to clean and throw away any extras after.

I hear the cake was delicious. The inside of this cake consisted of chocolate cake with a very thick layer of delicious peanut butter filling in the middle, everything was covered in ganache and finished off with some fondant. Of course I didn't get any super good pictures but thanks to the person who ordered the cake he sent my husband a picture of the birthday girl with her cake. I think it gives you a better idea of the size of the cake.

Baby Shower

So this is a mixed post. I threw a baby shower for my friend Amy this weekend. Her colors were Green, Brown and Orange. Finding things that were her colors was a little tricky but I think we did a pretty good job. My mom made the cute banner and got the balloons. I don't think I could throw a party without my mom she is such a big help. I know not everything is a cake that I'm posting but it's all too cute not to share :)

Confetti cupcakes with Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting. Yum!
Baby Rattle cake pops. Vanilla cake with cream cheese frosting covered in chocolate and the other end is modeling chocolate.
Diaper Cake!

My mom also made this super cute fox rice bag. Sooo cute!

Mint CTR Cake

Brookie had a birthday. She turned 8 and for us that is a pretty special birthday. She recently told Mimi and Baka that she really likes the color mint green so we decided to use some mint green :) The inside of the cake was chocolate with Chocolate ganache. Brooklyn's favorite is always the fondant so I made sure to use fondant. Most of the time she'll eat the fondant and leave the rest of the cake.... Silly Girl.

Horrible lighting!

Gender Reveal Cake

I've been wanting to make a gender reveal cake for quite some time so when I found out we were expecting I decided this would be the perfect opportunity. I decided to fill the cake with m&m's and sixlets. We are so excited for Baby Sweetie to join our family.

Here is a video of me cutting the cake too.
